5 Christian Songs to Inspire Your Business (and Keep You Going When It Gets Tough)
Early Sunday morning, I found myself sitting at my sewing machine, piecing together a last-minute (don’t you love when your kids only tell you a few days before things are due) Tinkerbell costume for my daughter’s school play, with worship music playing in the background. Agnus Dei by Passion filled the room, and I was reminded again how deeply music can carry us through the moments of life and business, instilling a profound sense of trust and comfort.
In a recent blog post, I shared how singing in the car with my daughter reminded me that Jesus is the true Light.
(You can read that story here: Step Into the Light: Bringing Jesus Into Your Business).
If music can inspire us in something as ordinary as a car ride, it can certainly inspire us in the extraordinary (and sometimes exhausting) journey of building a business in faith.
As Christians, music has always held a special place in our lives; we are a singing faith. Singing praises to our Lord is a core component of who we are, and believers have been lifting their voices to God throughout the ages.
Just recently, contemporary Christian musicians Chris Tomlin and Ben Fielding resurrected a 3rd-century hymn found on a papyrus fragment in Egypt — the oldest known Christian lyrics and musical notation — into a modern worship song called The First Hymn.

Our business journey, above all, requires trust in the One who guides us. Worship music can be a defining source of motivation, invigoration, and, at times, focus, hope, and comfort during our entrepreneurial adventure.
To give you a bit of a musical lift when you need it, here are five worship songs that have encouraged me — and I pray they do the same for you.
1. Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)
This song has become an anthem for courage for many Christians. The ocean, a symbol of boundless faith, reminds us that entrepreneurship often feels risky — but miracles happen when we trust Jesus to hold us above the waves. The lyrics of Oceans are a powerful reminder that courage, more than anything, is what propels us forward in our business journey.
The message of Oceans can be applied to the risks and uncertainties of entrepreneurship, reminding us that courage and trust in God can help us navigate challenging times.

2. Waymaker
I love the bridge of this song: “Even when I don’t see it, You’re working. Even when I don’t feel it, You’re working. You never stop, You never stop working.”
Waymaker has carried me through seasons when results were slow and discouragement loomed. God is always working behind the scenes — opening doors, aligning opportunities, and making a way where there seems to be no way.
When you feel like your business isn’t moving forward, Waymaker reminds you to trust that God is orchestrating what you cannot yet see.

3. Raise a Hallelujah
The story behind this song is a testimony of faith. It was written as a battle cry when a child’s life was hanging in the balance, declaring worship in the face of darkness.
It’s a reminder that praise is not passive — it’s warfare.
As entrepreneurs, we face many struggles, doubts, and setbacks. When we choose to raise a hallelujah in those moments, we are declaring, “God is greater than this battle.”

4. Praise (Elevation Worship)
For me, this song is pure joy. It’s the kind of worship anthem that instantly shifts the atmosphere.
When I ran around Australia, I often played ABBA at the 40–50 km mark — because no one can feel miserable listening to ABBA. Praise feels like that for Christians — you can’t stay down when you’re singing it.
When business feels heavy, sometimes you need a song that simply lifts you up and reminds you that joy is strength. Praise is that song!

5. The Lord Will Provide
"Look at the flowers
In all of their beauty
I don’t have to wonder
You know what You’re doing (yes, that’s right)
So why would I worry at all
’Cause You’re faithful to supply"
I love the opening lyrics of The Lord Will Provide as they serve as a comforting reminder that God is our ultimate provider. In the midst of the hustle and worry of business, this song brings us back to the truth that He is always enough.
When we trust our business journey to God, He will always provide in His perfect timing and provision. This realisation can empowers us, give us confidence and assurance in our entrepreneurial endeavours.

Music is a remarkable tool to lean on. Worship songs can uplift your spirits, inspire creativity, and provide a comforting backdrop during both challenging and joyful times in your entrepreneurial journey.
With that in mind, I hope these 5 songs resonate with you and offer the same motivation and encouragement they have given me. May they become a source of strength and inspiration in your business journey.
Stay Blessed,
Deborah 💛

📖 Verse
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.” — Psalm 40:3
🕊 Reflection
Worship music has a way of reminding us of God’s goodness in ways words alone cannot capture. When we fill our hearts with praise, courage rises, perspective shifts, and our business becomes less about striving and more about surrender.
🙏 Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of music that carries us through the highs and lows of life and business. During my online business journey please give me courage when I feel afraid, hope when I am weary, and joy when the journey feels long. May every step I take in building my business be grounded in worship and trust in You. Amen.
