🕯️ When a Christian Voice is Silenced: Why We Must Still Speak

Another Christian voice has been silenced — not by time, but by hatred.
Charlie Kirk is gone.
Not from sickness.
Not from accident.
But taken.
Targeted.
And whether you agreed with everything he said or not, one thing was clear:
He stood.
For Jesus.
Unapologetically.
This kind of news is hard to process — not just because it’s tragic, but because it shakes something deeper.
When a person is killed for their voice… for standing in their faith… it forces you to ask:
- Is it still safe to speak out?
- What does it cost to live boldly for Christ today?
- How do I raise my daughter in a world like this?
- Why would God allow this?
There’s no neat answer. But this is where faith becomes more than a hashtag.
“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.”
— Matthew 10:28
We are not promised comfort.
We are not promised safety.
But we are promised this:
God is with us. Even here. Especially here.
And we are still called to be salt and light in a world that sometimes turns on both.
đź’” Why does it seem like the world targets Christians?
Because in many ways… it does.
Not with open war in Western countries (not usually), but with:
- Mockery
- Silencing
- Double standards
- Shadowbanning
- Harassment
You see it when:
- Christians are called hateful for holding biblical views — while other religions are untouched.
- A post about Jesus is flagged — but manifesting, witchcraft, and New Age content are celebrated.
- Boosted Christian content is suppressed — while darker messages are algorithmically elevated.
- Believers are corrected or cancelled just for saying His name.
And now?
A Christian leader is dead — murdered — and instead of national mourning, some are cheering.
đź’ˇ Why is it okay to hate Christians?
Because Christians are seen as safe to mock.
We’re told to turn the other cheek.
We’re seen as outdated.
Bigoted.
Irrelevant.
Oppressors of the past.
But that narrative ignores this truth:
We are people.
People who love, give, serve, pray, rescue, adopt, forgive — in Jesus' name.
The world has stopped seeing that.
Maybe because it doesn’t want to.
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”
— John 15:18
🔥 Why are Christian voices being silenced?
Because the enemy knows something the world forgets:
Truth spoken in love is dangerous.
It awakens hearts.
It saves souls.
It breaks chains.
So it must be silenced.
But here’s the thing...
If you’re reading this and you feel the same holy fire rising in your chest — the heartbreak and the courage side by side — you are not alone.
And you are not crazy.
You’re called.
To stand.
To speak.
To raise your voice — not in defiance, but in obedience.
To carry the light that others tried to snuff out.
🕊️ In Honour of Charlie
Charlie gave his life speaking truth as he saw it.
His voice has been silenced in the natural…
but not in eternity.
And not in those who were listening.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
— John 1:5
So I will keep building.
Keep speaking.
Keep raising my daughter to know that Jesus is not a slur —
He is the Saviour of the world.
And if that makes me a target?
Then maybe that means I’m doing something right.
Mini Devotional
📜 Scripture:
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
— Matthew 5:10
🕊 Reflection:
Persecution isn’t always violent. Sometimes it’s subtle:
The eye-roll. The unfollow. The shadowban. The ridicule.
But Jesus sees it all — and calls us blessed when we endure it for His name.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, give us courage when the world calls us foolish.
Give us boldness when our voices shake.
And let us never forget: Your light cannot be silenced.
Let our lives honour You — even when it costs something.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Stay Blessed,
Deborah đź’›
