5 Powerful Signs God Is Calling You to Build Something New

5 Powerful Signs God Is Calling You to Build Something New

Nov 13, 2025

Have you ever had that inner nudge that just won’t quit?

The one that whispers, “You were made for more than this.”

You try to ignore it, but it keeps showing up — in conversations, in prayer, in the quiet moments when you’re honest with yourself.

That was me — wrestling between what was comfortable and what was calling.

After experiencing a profound period of grief following my husband’s death, I found myself feeling desperate and began pursuing income in every way the online world suggested. I ended up using my writing skills to create copy for questionable affiliate marketing products, particularly for YouTube video advertising.

I wrote so many ad scripts — maybe not thousands, but it certainly felt like it. Each one promised freedom, success, and ease. Yet the more I tried, the more I felt my soul quietly breaking.

One night, after yet another frustrating week of writing affiliate ads for men's supplements addressing various issues (Yikes! 😛😬), I sat at my desk in despair. I found myself banging my forehead on the desk, asking, “What should I do?”

I could keep forcing something that clearly wasn’t bearing fruit — or I could finally stop striving and listen.

And in that stillness, God nudged me.

I realised I didn’t just want to make money. I wanted to create meaning.

I wanted to build something I loved — something that helped other women like me create with faith, integrity, and purpose.

That’s when Faith + Funnels was born — not out of strategy, but surrender.

So if you’ve been feeling that same pull — that quiet invitation to build something new — here are five signs God may be calling you too.

1️⃣ You Can’t Shake the Idea — It Keeps Finding You

A true God-idea doesn’t fade; it waits.

You can push it aside, get busy, talk yourself out of it — but somehow it finds you again. You’ll see a post, a verse, a conversation, and that same idea will rise back up like a holy echo.

For me, it was the vision of helping Christian women build online with integrity.

It came during walks, in prayer, even while folding laundry.

Eventually, I realised God wasn’t asking me to invent something; He was asking me to answer something.

If the idea keeps circling back, pay attention. God often repeats Himself until we listen.

2️⃣ What Once Fit No Longer Feels Right

Philippians 3:13-14 says, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal.”

There comes a moment when the season you’re in — the job, the role, the rhythm — starts to feel too small for who you’re becoming. It isn’t bad; it’s just complete.

I felt that in my old work and even in the early business ideas that once felt “safe.” When your peace starts to leave, it may be God’s gentle way of saying, “It’s time to move forward.”

If you’ve been feeling stuck in this in-between space, you might find comfort in my post “Feeling Stuck? Trust God’s Call in Your Faith-Based Business”. It’s a gentle reminder that when we release what’s finished, God can reveal what’s next.

He never wastes what’s behind you — He uses it as a foundation for what’s next.

💌 Step Into Clarity

If you’ve been feeling that gentle tug to build something new but you’re not sure what to create — start with clarity.

3️⃣ You Feel Both Excited and Terrified

Courage and fear often travel together.

During my 20-year ultra-marathon career, before every race I ever ran, I felt that cocktail of emotions — excitement, nerves, anticipation, and holy fear. The same feeling returned when I stepped out in faith to build my new business.

When I wrote my very first blog post and spoke openly about my faith online, I had butterflies in my stomach.

My hands shook as I hit “publish.”

But beneath the nerves was a deep, steady joy — the kind of peace that only comes when you know you’re finally doing what God has called you to do.

If what God is asking of you feels bigger than your current capacity, that’s not a sign to quit — it’s confirmation you’ll need Him.

Remember, Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s obedience in its presence.

4️⃣ Confirmation Starts Appearing Everywhere

When God is speaking, repetition is His love language.

A verse will pop up in your reading. A friend will say something that mirrors your thoughts. A sermon will hit your heart like it was written just for you.

For me, the confirmation came during prayer. Over and over, I felt God nudging me to start a faith-based online business. And would you believe, one day while I was editing yet another affiliate-marketing ad for those soul-crushing supplements I’d been trying to sell, a random conversation with AI of all things turned into a divine moment. It suggested — completely out of the blue — that I start helping Christian women build businesses online.

Maybe God even works through AI?

When He wants to get our attention, He’ll use whatever He needs to — prayer, Scripture, people, even pixels.

Those are divine breadcrumbs. Don’t brush them off as a coincidence — collect them. Write them down, and you’ll begin to see the pattern of His direction.

5️⃣ You Sense It’s Bigger Than You

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”

When God planted this vision in me — to build Faith + Funnels — I didn’t just sense it was bigger than me; it was overwhelming.

Especially the tech side. 💻

I didn’t have all the answers.

Some days, I felt like I was trying to build an ark without blueprints.

But every time I prayed, God showed me the next step. Just one small instruction at a time — enough light for the next plank, not the whole plan.

If the thing you’re dreaming of feels slightly impossible, that’s usually the clue it’s from God.

When He plants a vision in you, it will stretch your comfort zone. You’ll know it’s Him because it will require faith, not just strategy.

You might not have the full map — only a single, trembling yes. But that’s where every Kingdom-built business begins.

🌿 From Sensing to Stepping

Maybe you’re standing at that crossroad now — between the comfort of what you know and the unknown of what you feel called to build.

Start where you are. Pray. Ask for wisdom. Take one faithful step.

🙏 Mini Devotional

📜 Verse: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:19

🕊 Reflection:

God rarely asks us to see the entire map. He simply invites us to notice the sprout — the new thing He’s growing — and trust Him with the next step.

🙏 Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the holy restlessness that reminds me You’re not finished yet.

Give me courage to say yes when You call me to build something new.

Let every idea be planted, watered, and grown for Your glory.

Amen.

Stay Blessed,

Deborah 💛
